NWA Girls OPEN DAY

Open day dates:  Tuesday 21st of July 2026.

Our OPEN DAY Trials are considered a "Try before you buy" Open Day. If you're interested in your daughter joining the academy, then this is an opportunity for us to take a look at her prior to joining. Please just bear in mind that places are limited so we advise booking your place as soon as possible.

Ability / Expectations:

We don't expect perfect, we just want passionate. If your child has been playing football for a while now and has a good understanding and reasonable ability, we're most likely a suitable fit.

If you are looking for more than one night a week, we advise getting in touch and having a chat about a best suited package. We can gage the ability and work out what works for you.

If you can only commit to one training night per week, then this Tuesday Centre of Excellence session is the ideal pathway for your child’s development.

Ages

8-10yrs - 5pm - 6pm

11-12yrs - 6pm - 7pm

13-14yrs - 7pm - 8pm

15-16yrs - 8pm - 9pm

Places will be offered at the end of July and you will receive an invitation to register and order kit in preparation for a September 8th start.

If successful, our Centre of Excellence develops players across four key areas:

1. Technical Development

  • Ball mastery and first touch

  • Passing and receiving under pressure

  • Dribbling, turning, and ball protection

  • Shooting and finishing techniques

  • Position‑specific skills

2. Tactical Understanding

  • Decision‑making in and out of possession

  • Movement, spacing, and awareness

  • Understanding roles and responsibilities

  • Transition play (attack to defence and vice‑versa)

  • Game management and problem‑solving

3. Physical Conditioning

  • Agility, balance, coordination

  • Speed and acceleration

  • Strength appropriate to age

  • Endurance and movement efficiency

4. Psychological & Social Development

  • Confidence and resilience

  • Communication and teamwork

  • Discipline and focus

  • Leadership and responsibility

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A WEEKLY SESSION

Each weekly session is structured to mirror the rhythm of a professional academy environment. A typical session includes:

1. Arrival & Activation

  • Professional arrival standards

  • Light movement, dynamic warm‑up, and ball‑based activation

  • Brief outline of the session theme

2. Technical Block

Focused drills linked to the weekly topic, such as:

  • First‑touch work

  • Passing combinations

  • Dribbling and ball manipulation

  • Position‑specific technical skills

3. Tactical or Unit Work

Small‑group or unit‑based practices, for example:

  • Defending as a unit

  • Midfield rotations

  • Attacking patterns

  • Pressing and transition exercises

4. Match‑Play Coaching

The session finishes with match play designed to replicate real game situations while allowing coaches to guide players in the moment.

This includes:

  • Age‑group friendly matches

  • In‑play coaching to reinforce the session theme

  • Real‑time feedback on decision‑making

  • Opportunities to apply technical and tactical learning under pressure

The aim is to help players understand why and when to make certain decisions, not just how to perform the technique.

SUMMARY

The Centre of Excellence provides a high‑quality, academy‑style training environment that develops every aspect of a young player’s game.
